In the Dock!!

As James's name was called by the Court Usher…. we both looked up from the floor at which we had both been staring.  James was the first to move forward, whilst I picked up my bag and coat from the seat I was sitting in.  It was the smell of body odour that first caught my attention as I moved towards the door, for I had to pass many an ugly dirty person to get to the door of the court room.  For people not to wash for their appearance in Court, just showed the lack of respect these people adhered to.

James moved into the dock to state his name and address and then the charges were read out to him and to the Judge.  Judge Willoughby Smythson Pride was residing in court that morning and seemed a very decent chap.  Youngish, around forty-five years old and with a face that somewhat lack emotion.  James on the other hand was beginning to shown plenty of emotion… he was truly looking scared out of his wits.  This was not a place I think my son had ever envisaged in any thoughts, let alone to see himself placed in.  At this my heart did do a sudden jerk to sadness, but my hurt and shame at his actions soon kicked back into front position of mind…. that this was an idiot, I had given birth to.

My son's crime was the stealing of a bottle of Evian water and two packets of crisps from one of the newsagents in our borough.  Total amount £2.38p.  Not a huge amount but an amount and an action that my son would receive a fine of £150 and 20 hours - community service.  The Judge was extremely harsh in his tones towards my son… grilling him for his lack of common sense and to the extreme disgust that society felt towards him.   The charges of rioting were dismissed due to lack of evidence plus the fact that I had turned up to represent my son (of which many parents couldn't be bothered) to give him his much needed character witness, and that he was a private educated child with ambitions in film making.  This escapade of course, would be good groundwork for him in his future life.

We left the court as quickly as we had arrived…. along to the throngs of wailing and screaming from the front of the court entrance.  I felt physically sick now and James looked pale.  Neither of us said anything.  The time for his clip around the ear was just a car ride away!!

My Child in Court too!

My child had to go to the courts this Friday for having been one of the ugly people who had destroyed and mutilated one of the stores at Clapham.

As I stood in the lobby awaiting the Clerk of the Court to call us in, I was amongst some of the most repulsive class of people I had ever seen or the misfortune to meet.  There, with us were fat people eating burgers, and sloping the drinks down their chins.  It was only 10am in the morning, but this to them was breakfast.  There were, black youths with hoods, all pulled up and tied beneath their chins, so that the faces were disfigured and squashed together, giving them a look of a squashed baby face.  There were white youths, with their hoods all pulled up and covering most of their faces giving them the look for spaced out, Billy Bob Redneck kids, awaiting for their next bout of cider or spray can, so that they could get back on track with their lives.

Funnily, enough, there were actually some parents.  Well, I assumed they were parents for they seemed older, than the youths, which I kept staring at.  But when the Clerk of the Court, later started calling out names, some of the older people went into the courts on their own.  Those that were definitely parents, kept continually mouthing off to their off spring, in a clipped dialect, shoving fingers into children's faces and spitting as they spoke.  Their guttural tones grated into my head, with speech that went as follows:

Mother:
"U now, you know you say nofink, to dat dam judge.  U give nofink for them to blame you for, u gettit!!"

This seems to be repeated over and over again, with the kids just hopping with one leg as he walked up and down the corridor, and over shrugging his shoulders going…

Kid:
" Yeh, man….OK, Ok,  me's got it! for fuck's sake!  Is me you know… they got nufink on me!!"

The atmosphere was ridged with smell, fear and anxiety.  The police presence was the only thing I welcomed, without it, I literally feared for my life!

My son, James was just hanging his head in shame.  I think he too was shocked at the lot of scum who were walking about, making the courts look like an Edwardian Nut House.  He had to face up to the consequences of the actions he had taken to go out and run like a banshee through the streets of London but to make amends to me, who had turned up to see him get his just desserts.  This was going to be the harder of the punishment he was to receive, for nothing else mattered not now, for he knew that I was going to take him to the lowest his life could ever go!  And it all started with that morning.

What these feral cretins are capable of!

I continue the story tomorrow.

The Shame... The Shame....The Shame..!

It is not often that one can actually gasp at a Radio four announcement… unless, they were of course, Radio Four were announcing there was "War upon the country!"  Perhaps, they were, for the events of the last four days has truly been war!  But for an explanation within a radio report dissecting the latest riots upon the cities, an announcer passes us over to a man that states this bile and diatribe:-

" Well, it's not the parent's fault"  says, a particular thick man from outside the court, where his son is being convicted of crime.  "You just don't know where your kids are all the time, 24 hours a day, so if they slip out whilst your asleep mate… then there is nofink that you can do…is dare?"

Dear God, even the broken English spoken, is enough to make one gag upon the cup of coffee that I was drinking, but I continued to listen on with this rubbish, listening more to his delusional crap.  To put it in terms which only the thick amongst you will understand properly,  it sounded very much like the explanation of a man similar to this from the 19th century:-

"Here Mate, Nuffing to do with me guv…..I was asleep in me bed, when the idiot child went on
the rampage, causing "well, not sure what…as me meself, you know, had add a couple of bottles of Vodka, and after that mate, well me lights we out.  Know what I mean???"  "Actually, not too sure the kids mine… well the Missus is known for putting it about, so anyway, what damage was done eh?  I mean, it's only the rich who
got robbed and they deserve it, don't they?  "Cause, there's me , you know, living off a pittance called Income Support of £120 per week, plus me council tax of £1500 a year, plus me free National Health and Dentist, oh, me forgot, the cheap bus fairs and trains!!"  Oh, and all the free education me 15 kids get, and all the wife's benefits, plus the cheap housing I got when I lied to the council, nudge, nudge".  Well, it's tough for an old lazy sod like me of only 34, what else can a lazy git like medo?? Ha…ha…ha..!!  Yeh, I got it… I can live off you lot and in the bargain, ruin your lives with me brutish kids, and then pass the buck over to some other smuck who will give me a pardon under the "Human rights Laws!

The man claps his hands, smiles as he has a grand gloat and declares"-
BOY I LOVE THIS COUNTRY!!!!

The Tottenham Riots
But in reality and in truth, do people actually believe the bollocks that comes out of their own stupid mouths?  That a parent of a child, convicted of crime, would actually believe that for his child to venture out, whilst he was asleep, was acceptable behaviour from the child!  Why would a child do such a thing if his parents had stern and rigorous boundaries?  Obviously, this child has no bounderies….. BUT, not only that, there is NO actual punishment for him  from this parent!  … No grounding, no making him clear up the damage streets, with his own bear hands or even a clip around the ear.  Nothing, zilch, Nadda!!!

Unfortunately, there was just the complacency and swagger of this parent believing, from those frightening words he uttered on the Radio Four segment, that excused his child, from the riots and of all of the damaged "youth of today". . -   WHAT A STUPID BASTARD!  he is.
